Backroad Force AXS

The Rose Backroad is available in six frame sizes from XS to XL. The right frame size for you depends in particular on your body height. The size recommendations are stated directly next to the frame size selection field. In the frame geometry table (point A1) you will also find the corresponding measurement for each size as a classic frame height, from 50 (S) to 62 (XL).  

If you are between two sizes, you will sit in a more sporty, compact and bent forward position on the smaller frame, and the handling will tend to be more agile. A larger frame, on the other hand, provides a smoother ride and you will sit slightly more upright and stretched out. Most riders tend to choose the smaller frame for a gravel bike, but personal preferences and body proportions vary greatly. To be sure, arrange a test ride at your nearest Rose store. Alternatively, the Rose customer service can also help you with your size decision.

A 30-day returns policy applies to the Rose Backroad, and in the event of damage, the statutory warranty of two years applies. In addition, Rose offers a 6-year crash replacement service for frames, forks and wheels. This means that in the event of accident damage, you will receive a comparable replacement for 50 per cent of the retail price.  

Suitable mudguards are available as accessories for the Backroad. The round handlebar has a standard size of 31.8 mm and is compatible with most battery-powered lights. With the 'Store collection' delivery option, any accessories ordered at the same time are pre-assembled. However, this service is not possible when having your bike delivered to your home. 

Yes, both the tyres and rims on the Rose Backroad are tubeless-ready. The rims are already sealed with tubeless rim tape. For the conversion, you only need suitable tubeless valves* and sealant.

The Backroad comes with a custom-made frame bag as standard. The matching top tube bag is available from Rose as an original Backroad accessory – as are mudguards and a computer mount for the stem. You can also purchase Backroad spare parts via the Rose shop. Thanks to stable mounting points and a classic round handlebar, the Backroad also offers enough space for further bikepacking accessories.  

Most modern USB-C power banks are compatible with the Backroad USB-C port. When choosing a size, you can use the K-Werk power bank from B+M as a guide. With its dimensions of 101 × 65 × 38 mm (L × W × H), it is fitted as standard on the Backroad Unsupported model. This allows you to securely fasten the power bank on a rail in the frame compartment and use it to supply energy from there to the USB-C port under the handlebar for charging devices.   

Important: Due to the variety of power banks on the market, Rose Bikes cannot guarantee correct functionality with the Backroad USB-C port. To retrofit a dynamo wheel for charging, you need a special dynamo power bank or a buffer battery with a rectifier. 

If your power bank does not charge devices via the Backroad USB-C port, try the following trick: Unplug your connection cable from the USB-C port, turn the plug 180 degrees and then plug it back in. If that does not help, repeat the process at the power bank. Although plugging in both ways works for direct USB-C connections, limitations when using couplings or extensions are inherent to the USB-C system. If turning the plugs does not help, you can test a different cable on the handlebar before trying it with a different power bank. 

In every Backroad, light cables for the headlight and rear light are already pre-routed. This means that with a little technical skill and manageable effort, you can retrofit a permanently installed lighting system with a dynamo wheel. Advantage: The dynamo generates energy while riding and you never have to charge your lights. For an additional buffer battery with a Power Switch handlebar switch like on the Backroad Unsupported, however, additional cables must be routed, so we recommend having the conversion carried out in a Rose service workshop.
